India won the match at Mohali. We beat Pakistan in a World cup Semi-finals. I fist pumped the air, high-fived and chest bumped all my compatriot friends. Was there ever a bigger dream for over billion fans. Perhaps not, not at-least in this generation. This is as huge as it gets. We are through to the WC finals. Every time I say this a smile crosses my face. As an Indian there is not a more important thought on my mind. This is the picture painted by a sport that unites a nation which is most certainly greater than life.
This is what man needs the most, an image to worship, a chant to raise the goosebumps, a legend to recount to the generation to come. We live for such euphoria, to play audience to such magnificent a stage. The sun shines brighter, the flowers are more fragrant, the butterflies are more colorful the meadows are greener, the air is sweeter than ever and the breeze caresses not only our cheek but also out bosom. There is gait in our step, a warmth in our heart an aura of confidence about us. This is the magic of the euphoria set ablaze in our souls by the dreams which are larger than life. This is the source where we draw energy and virility to sustain in this world. This is the romance we add to life.
A life of reality without romance is but a flower without fragrance or should I say more akin to the plastic fruit that we keep on our coffee tables which just has the appearance but not the life. Life is definitely the best things that has happened to us. Having said that, it is not the easiest thing to cope on with. Be it overshooting expectations, unmanageable time schedules, unforgiven altercations, bourgeois monotony or the lack of leisure we find ourselves dragging our feet day to day. Through this clouded vision encumbered by innumerable adversaries we look for a gleaming ray of sunshine, a sustenance to rebuild our faith. Romance is the gargling spring, the raising fountain in our hearts that drives us forward. Each quest is adorned with a dream, each victory bathed in euphoria, each loss washed away with a tear. We cherish our victories and our soothe our wounds from the losses and make legends of each battle in the glorious light of romance.
India’s victory is the portrait painted on our heart which guides us in our path. It is one of the many legends that we shall cherish and remember, look back on and draw our faith in this voyage.
during those four years ,ever since the debacle of world cup 2007, we were glad to see that our team members were able to draw thin lines of demarcation among three aspects that have bearing on every game: careless, carefree and careful circket. atleast, they are able to know how to put premium on the wicket rather than throw away the wicket;and that helped them to cope up with the high-scores and defeate the toughest opponents which is quite a bit impossible for other teams to slug out their guts for the win.
