Hello world!! Here I am with a fresh new blog. I can’t remember clearly when I last started writing my previous one, but who cares? Right; millions of blogs are started each day with the best of intentions but some how end up as a dangling speck of dust in this colossus called internet. Internet, the all-powerful, all aware, unfathomable and formidable, for a lack of better imagination lets call it entity. So was lost my previous attempt.
Impulse got the better of my commonsense again, which dictates that this humble effort, despite great expectations, would end up ,like my previous one, in ruins (Spoiler Alert: Much like Pip with his Great Expectations) , and I am back again with a blog, or as I would prefer to call it a chronicle.
So what is this impulse which was strong enough to breach the barriers of lethargy and commonsense and has manifested itself into this chronicle? Well, it is partly to express my musings, partly to record my transient, ephemeral and impulsive thoughts, and to fill my free time, of which I seem to have bundles just until I get to my to-do list, on looking at which I am swept with tides of exhaustion, ennui and discomfiture that I look away with such revulsion and chagrin as Dorian Gray on looking at his portrait. I am sorry for this literary metaphor, which I am not sure how many of my audience are aware. For the interested “The Picture of Dorian Gray” is a very lovely and short book by Oscar Wilde. On the flip side do I have audience, well just to sooth my vanity I will assume I have at-least a few! Ambling back to the aspects of my impulse part of it is rooted in nurturing a long lost ambition, soothing my vanity and caressing the ego; not the best or the noblest of the intentions, however, I will endeavor to keep the posts interesting. I congratulate you if you have successfully read my entire post. I hope to write less contentedly and with shorter sentences in future.
First I read it as fall e-notes, and thought that it had something to do with the notes of the Fall semester which are/were in electornic format. KiKiKiKi.
By the way, why write in shorter sentences ? They are quite manageable (after all the PGW I read, thanks to you). If you ask me, the real problem is the GRE word-list type words. But no one asks me.
Moreover, why write for an audience ? It is nice to get noticed; but should that be the primary goal of a blog/bogger ?
